The catalogue is already there, so the first sale comes before the setup does. Nothing to install, nothing to pay, and nothing to undo if you change your mind.
No card. Nothing to pay until you have sold through it.
Scan the label or type the title. Cash, MTN, Orange, store credit and points can settle one basket between them, and the receipt goes to the parent on WhatsApp before she has left the counter.
Split however she pays. The receipt names Rose, because somebody served her.
One shop sends a school the template. The bursar fills it in. Every Folio shop in that town can sell against it the same day — and next July starts from this year's list rather than an empty sheet.
Prices in FCFA, monthly, paid by MTN or Orange. Change or stop whenever you like — your data is exportable on any plan, including Free.
Every plan includes the till, offline selling, stock, QR labels, the school lists and the storefront. Paying adds people, scale and the things that only matter once the shop is busy.
Software that promises everything is software nobody checks. These are the limits, stated before you sign up rather than discovered in September.
Nothing is deleted. The shop is suspended — tills stop and the storefront says closed — and everything is exactly as you left it when you renew. You can export the lot at any time, on any plan including Free, and it is yours to keep.
None of them. A phone is the till, its camera is the scanner, and QR labels print on ordinary sticker paper at any print shop. A thermal printer is optional and Folio will not pretend to print to one you do not have.
Never. Your MoMo and bank accounts are yours, and customers pay you directly through your own gateway credentials. Folio charges you a subscription and touches nothing else — a branch's takings never pass through another branch, let alone through us.
The till works offline and syncs when you are back. MoMo still works because the customer dials it on her own phone. What Folio will not do offline is guess a stock figure — it says "unknown" rather than a number that might be wrong.
Because a school list is not a secret — it is on the school's noticeboard and in every parent's hand. You compete on stock, price and whether you answer WhatsApp, and none of those is shared. What you get back is every list in your town.
The whole product, in French or English, chosen per person. Your customers get their receipts and messages in whichever language they wrote to you in.
